Notes from taper:
This was the Heritage Hunter tour featuring Opeth, Mastodon and Ghost. Due to poor planning on my part, I had no proper way to hold my rig so I spent the night with the recorder in my hand trying desperately to not create any friction noise while remaining unnoticed! Adding insult to injury I also set my record levels far too low! On top of it all I was bummed to find that Opeth was not the headliner that night.
All said and done, things turned out OK. Ghost was entertaining, Opeth was excellent (as always) and Mastodon ... well... I'm just not a fan. They had energy to spare and a cool light show... but their music just doesn't grab me.
A little work in post and this set from Ghost came out sounding pretty good.
